Calvin Ridley Walks off due to cramps Wednesday
Wed, Jul 30, 2025, 2:17 PM
Ridley was unable to finish Wednesday's practice due to his right calf cramping up, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: Ridley continued to demonstrate a strong rapport with rookie quarterback Cam Ward prior to his departure, which occurred near the end of practice. The No. 1 wideout held his calf after a play and left the field to be evaluated by Tennessee's medical staff, though wide receiver coach Tyke Tolbert confirmed Ridley was only dealing with cramps, per Nick Suss and Nick Gray of the Nashville Tennessean. While it's possible the Titans take precautions and give Ridley a rest day Thursday, the veteran wideout doesn't appear to be dealing with any actual injury. The 30-year-old is locked in as Ward's unquestioned top target this season, putting him in prime position to tally a third consecutive 1,000-yard campaign, with the hope of increased produciton due to improved O-line and QB play.
Treylon Burks
Treylon Burks Moves to injured reserve
Tue, Jul 29, 2025, 4:26 PM
Burks (collarbone) reverted to the Titans' injured reserve Tuesday, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Burks broke his right collarbone while making a diving catch at Saturday's practice. Considering he's now on injured reserve, he'll be required to miss the entire 2025 season, barring getting waived with an injury settlement. Through three NFL campaigns, the 2022 first-round pick has compiled a disappointing 53-699-1 line on 92 targets in 27 regular-season games, including just four catches for 34 yards and no TDs on eight targets in five contests last year.
Calvin Ridley
Calvin Ridley Showing rapport with Ward
Mon, Jul 28, 2025, 7:02 AM
Ridley caught several deep passes from Cameron Ward during Saturday's practice, Nick Suss of The Tennessean reports.
Analysis: Ward aired out several deep pass attempts during the practice session, hitting Ridley on a 40-yard shot as he was covered by Roger McCreary. Ridley also made a diving catch later on another deep route, displaying rapport early on in camp with his rookie quarterback. Given the projected improved offensive line and quarterback play around him in 2025, Ridley should be in a good position to post his third consecutive 1,000 receiving-yard season.
Ramel Keyton
Ramel Keyton Signs with Titans
Sat, Jul 26, 2025, 3:05 PM
The Titans signed Keyton on Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Keyton will provide Tennessee extra depth at receiver, as Treylon Burks is expected to be sidelined for an extended period of time after suffering a broken collarbone in practice Saturday. Keyton caught one pass for seven yards across eight outings with the Raiders last season and will likely spend the remainder of the summer competing for a spot on the Titans' final roster.
Treylon Burks
Treylon Burks Suffers fractured collarbone
Sat, Jul 26, 2025, 1:58 PM
Burks fractured his collarbone during Saturday's practice, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Burks made an incredible diving catch during Saturday's practice but came up holding his right shoulder before heading to the locker room. The 2022 first-round pick has struggled with injuries throughout his young career, as he suffered a torn ACL last season and has played only 27 regular-season games through three campaigns. It's unclear when he will return, but he's expected to at least miss the beginning of the season. This opens the door for Van Jefferson and rookies Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor to secure the No. 3 wide receiver role in the meantime.
Treylon Burks
Treylon Burks Leaves practice Saturday
Sat, Jul 26, 2025, 12:35 PM
Burks (shoulder/knee) exited Saturday's practice after making a diving one-handed catch, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports.
Analysis: Burks has been practicing for a couple days now after his 2024 campaign was cut short due to a torn ACL. He beat a cornerback deep during Saturday's practice and made a phenomenal catch but came up holding his shoulder before heading to the locker room. Burks is vying for a starting wide receiver job during training camp, so any missed time will be detrimental.
Treylon Burks
Treylon Burks Still viewed as key piece
Thu, Jul 24, 2025, 12:12 PM
Cameron Ward expressed optimism that Burks (knee) will be one of the Titans' top receivers in 2025, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: Burks has had a difficult start to his NFL career due to a combination of poor performance and injury. He's recovering from a torn ACL heading into his fourth campaign but has been practicing at the start of training camp, which should be a positive indication of his availability come the regular season. The Titans drafted Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor and also signed Van Jefferson and Tyler Lockett this offseason, giving Burks increased competition for targets.
Jermar Jefferson
Jermar Jefferson Catches on with Tennessee
Wed, Jul 23, 2025, 5:30 PM
The Titans signed Jefferson to a contract Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Jefferson appeared in two regular-season games for the Lions in 2024, posting six carries for 22 yards and one catch on as many targets for 10 yards. The 2021 seventh-round pick will use training camp and the preseason to audition for a spot on the Titans' 53-man roster.
Cameron Ward
Cameron Ward Takes first-team reps, as expected
Wed, Jul 23, 2025, 3:40 PM
Ward took all of the first-team QB reps during Wednesday's opening training camp practice, Turron Davenport of ESPN reports.
Analysis: While the Titans haven't officially declared Ward the starter, Davenport indicates that the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft is firmly in line to claim the job after the team announced Monday that Will Levis, who is now on IR, will have season-ending surgery on his right shoulder next week. Currently in the mix to back up Ward this coming season are free agent acquisitions Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle.
Will Levis
Will Levis Placed on IR by Titans
Wed, Jul 23, 2025, 3:19 PM
Levis (shoulder) was placed on IR by the Titans on Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The move comes as no surprise, following Monday's news that Levis had elected to have season-ending surgery on his right shoulder. In his absence, this year's No. 1 overall pick, Cameron Ward is poised to handle the bulk first-team QB reps in training camp practices as the Titans prepare him to be their starter in Week 1, per Jim Wyatt.
Treylon Burks
Treylon Burks On track for training camp
Mon, Jul 21, 2025, 12:55 PM
Burks (knee) is expected to be ready for training camp, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Burks, who is bouncing back from an ACL tear that he suffered Week 6 of the 2024 season, was only able to take part in individual periods of practice during OTAs and minicamp, but it looks like he'll be ready for more work in training camp. Once he's at or close to 100 percent, the 2022 first-rounder will have an opportunity to compete for slotting in a Tennessee wideout corps that is led by Calvin Ridley but unsettled beyond that.
Cameron Ward
Cameron Ward Set to take first-team reps
Mon, Jul 21, 2025, 10:45 AM
Ward's teammate, Will Levis, will undergo surgery on his right throwing shoulder next Tuesday and will miss the entire 2025 season, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: With Levis -- who logged 21 starts for the Titans over the last two regular seasons -- no longer in the mix to compete with Ward, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com notes that the No. 1 overall choice in the 2025 NFL Draft is slated to take the team's first-team QB reps in training camp and likely will be backed up by Brandon Allen, with Tim Boyle also on hand. Ward thus appears destined to draw the Week 1 start for Tennessee while helming a passing attack that's headlined by top WR Calvin Ridley and top TE Chig Okonkwo but otherwise is a work in progress, with slotting behind the duo at their respective positions to be determined as the summer progresses.
Will Levis
Will Levis Getting season-ending surgery
Mon, Jul 21, 2025, 9:02 AM
Levis will soon have season-ending surgery for a shoulder injury that he initially sustained early in the 2024 campaign, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Levis aggravated the injury later in the 2024 season and then apparently dealt with discomfort this spring/summer. With his shoulder still not right at the start of training camp, he's opting for surgery and hoping to return for 2026, at which point he'll be in the final year of his rookie contract. The Titans are left with Brandon Allen and Tim Boyle as the backup QB options on their current roster behind presumed starter and No. 1 overall pick Cameron Ward.
Jordan Mims
Jordan Mims Signs with Tennessee
Thu, Jul 17, 2025, 10:01 AM
Mims signed a contract with the Titans on Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Mims -- whose contract with the Titans is for two years, per NFL reporter Jordan Schultz, has played in 13 regular-season games for the Saints since going undrafted in 2023, recording 32 touches for 141 yards across 108 snaps on offense. The Titans have Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears locked into the top two spots on their depth chart, leaving Mims to compete with Julius Chestnut, Kalel Mullings and Tyrion Davis-Price for one or two jobs.
Calvin Ridley
Calvin Ridley Expectations rise for 2025
Fri, Jul 11, 2025, 9:20 PM
Ridley is reenergized for his second year with the Titans after the team selected Cam Ward with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: Ridley had a successful opening season with the Titans, surpassing 1,000 receiving yards for the third time in his career. That achievement was made more impressive by the fact that he suffered from inconsistent quarterback play from Will Levis and Mason Rudolph, something that the team hopes to have remedied with the selection of Ward. Wyatt noted that Ridley has taken to mentoring the rookie quarterback, developing rapport with him that could translate to more production come the regular season.
Kalel Mullings
Kalel Mullings Pushing for roster spot as rookie
Wed, Jul 9, 2025, 8:39 PM
Mullings will compete with Julius Chestnut for a roster spot during training camp, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: Mullings missed time with an injury to his abdomen immediately after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but he participated in minicamp and will be a full go for training camp. He is regarded as a good downhill runner, but his primary role, if he makes the team, will come on special teams to begin his rookie campaign.
Julius Chestnut
Julius Chestnut Facing competition
Wed, Jul 9, 2025, 8:22 PM
Chestnut is likely to battle with Kalel Mullings for a roster spot during training camp, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: Chestnut has been with the Titans for three seasons, though he had his most extensive involvement in 2024. That came primarily via special teams, which could help him in his competition with Mullings this summer. Wyatt projects that the Titans will carry three backs on the roster with one more on the practice squad, so Chestnut could stick around even if he isn't on the active roster.
Josh Whyle
Josh Whyle Facing pressure for roster spot
Wed, Jul 9, 2025, 7:52 PM
Whyle is facing increased pressure to keep his roster spot heading into his third NFL season, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: Chig Okonkwo is locked in as the Titans' top tight end, but the depth chart is uncertain thereafter. The team selected Gunnar Helm in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, who earned strong reviews during offseason workouts and is almost certainly locked into a roster spot. That sets Whyle up to battle David Martin-Robinson for third on the depth chart. Whyle took a step forward in 2024, but he's still managed only 37 receptions for 344 yards and two touchdowns across his first two seasons as a pro combined.
Chig Okonkwo
Chig Okonkwo Displaying chemistry with Ward
Fri, Jun 20, 2025, 12:55 PM
Okonkwo caught the most passes of any player during Tennessee's five open practices of OTAs and mandatory minicamp, and he already appears to have developed a rapport with rookie quarterback Cam Ward, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Okonkwo's three seasons in the league thus far have been similar, as he's now started slow, finished strong, played all 17 regular-season games and floated around the 500-yard range each year since joining the Titans in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Tennessee added TE Gunnar Helm in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but even with more competition for snaps there's reason for optimism that improved quarterback play from Ward, the No. 1 overall pick, will pave the way for Okonkwo's production to finally take a step forward. The 6-foot-3, 238-pound tight end lacks prototypical size but boasts rare speed and YAC ability for his position. Tennessee doesn't have an entrenched No. 2 option in the passing game behind top wideout Calvin Ridley, as Tyler Lockett, Treylon Burks (ACL) and Van Jefferson plus a pair of rookie fourth-rounders in Chimere Dikeand Elic Ayomanor close out the wide receiver room. If he continues building momentum during training camp, it's not inconceivable that Okonkwo could secure that role.
Tyjae Spears
Tyjae Spears Motivated for Year 3
Fri, Jun 20, 2025, 11:46 AM
Titans coach Brian Callahan said during mandatory minicamp that Spears has "had an unbelievable offseason" and that he's "really excited to see what he can bring to us this year because he's been in a great place," Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Spears has been a full participant at offseason activities after battling ankle and hamstring injuries in 2024, in addition to two concussions, the latter of which forced him to sit out Week 18. The 2023 third-round pick wrapped 2024 with just 312 yards and four touchdowns on 84 carries across 12 regular-season appearances, plus 31 catches for 226 yards and another score. Spears said he's motivated to "be as consistent as I can be" in 2025 and focusing on "doing more things toward being a better teammate." At full health, it wouldn't be inaccurate to call Spears one of the league's most elusive runners, so as long as he's able to stay on the field, he'll have a path to emerge as a meaningful playmaker alongside Tony Pollard. Callahan said in May that his plan for 2025 is to deploy a more even backfield split between Pollard and Spears that allows the two to "play a little more evenly," and the team seems a strong candidate to build its offense around the ground game in Cam Ward's rookie season.
