Treylon Burks
Treylon Burks Could be ready for Week 1
Wed, Jun 11, 2025, 1:06 PM
Titans coach Brian Callahan said Wednesday that Burks (knee) is at about 80 percent strength and may be ready for Week 1, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The 2022 first-round pick is finishing up his rehab from the ACL tear he suffered Week 6 last year, with a shot to be ready for the start of the final season of his rookie contract. Burks has averaged 2.0 catches for 25.9 yards in 27 career games, with just one touchdown among his 53 receptions, providing minimal reason for hope that he can live up to his draft status. He at least has some chance to earn playing time in Tennessee, where WR roles appear open for competition behind Calvin Ridley.
Kalel Mullings
Kalel Mullings Recovered from core surgery
Fri, Jun 6, 2025, 2:40 PM
Mullings (abdomen) has been participating in OTAs.
Analysis: Mullings was limited at rookie minicamp earlier in May while recovering from core muscle surgery, but the rookie sixth-round pick appears to have shed those limitations at OTAs. He'll be competing in camp against Julius Chestnut and Tyrion Davis-Price for a depth role in a Titans backfield led by Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears.
Tyrion Davis-Price
Tyrion Davis-Price Finds work with Tennessee
Mon, Jun 2, 2025, 1:08 PM
The Titans signed Davis-Price to a two-year contract Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The 24-year-old running back was the 93rd overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the 49ers but carried the ball just 40 times for 120 scoreless yards (3.0 YPC) in seven regular-season games across two seasons with the team. He appeared in one regular-season contest with the Eagles last year, rushing three times for seven yards. Davis-Price will try to win a job behind Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears and Julius Chestnut in Tennessee.
Treylon Burks
Treylon Burks Getting in limited practice
Wed, May 28, 2025, 12:55 PM
Burks (knee) practiced in a limited capacity during OTAs on Wednesday, John Glennon of NashvillePost.com reports.
Analysis: It's an encouraging sign to see Burks working with his team as he heals from the ACL damage he incurred back in Week 6 of the 2024 season. Per Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com, Coach Brian Callahan said Wednesday that while Burks isn't fully back, he'll be involved in practice as he progresses in his recovery. Once he's fully healthy, Tennessee hopes Burks will be able to compete for targets that don't go to Calvin Ridley with veteran wideouts Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson, as well as rookies Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomanor.
Tony Pollard
Tony Pollard Coach envisions even backfield split
Wed, May 21, 2025, 9:38 AM
Titans head coach Brian Callahan said Wednesday that the team intends to deploy a backfield distribution that allows Pollard and Tyjae Spears to "play a little more evenly" in 2025, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Callahan said Pollard, who compiled a career-high 1,079 rushing yards plus five scores on 260 carries (4.2 YPC) last season, "was our most productive running back" but acknowledged that he "was battling the second half of the year quite a bit" and struggled to remain fully healthy, as did Spears. "So hopefully that division of labor gets a little more evenly distributed so [Pollard] doesn't have to take the brunt of it," Callahan said while also expressing a desire to work a third back into the mix, which could be either Julius Chestnut or rookie sixth-rounder Kalel Mullings (abdomen). Pollard said the right high-ankle sprain he dealt with late in 2024 is "ready to go" and that "getting more guys involved, keeping guys fresh" would be "ideal." A decrease in overall workload could allow the 28-year-old Pollard to better maintain his efficiency for a full 17-game slate, and even if he doesn't reprise a workhorse role, he's positioned to repeat as Tennessee's top backfield option. With Cam Ward now under center rather than Will Levis, there's also room for the Titans' offense to improve as a whole and provide enough increased scoring opportunities for Pollard's fantasy value as an RB2 to remain safely intact.
Tyjae Spears
Tyjae Spears Participates in OTAs
Tue, May 20, 2025, 7:49 PM
Spears (concussion) participated in Tennessee's OTAs on Tuesday.
Analysis: Spears is healthy again after having been sidelined for the team's Week 18 loss versus the Texans last season with a concussion. The 23-year-old rushed for 312 yards and four touchdowns on 84 carries and hauled in 31 passes for 226 yards and an additional touchdown in 12 games during the 2024 campaign, and he should once again serve as the team's No. 2 running back behind Tony Pollard in the upcoming season.
Colton Dowell
Colton Dowell Participating in OTAs
Tue, May 20, 2025, 7:09 PM
Dowell (knee) was an active participant in Tennessee's OTAs on Tuesday.
Analysis: Dowell was sidelined for the entirety of last season after tearing his ACL and meniscus in Week 17 of the 2023 the campaign but is healthy again. The 2023 seventh-round pick saw limited action offensively during his rookie campaign, as he caught just one pass for three yards and saw the majority of his playing time on special teams. Dowell will likely have a similar role during the upcoming season should he make the team's final roster.
Cameron Ward
Cameron Ward Splitting reps evenly with Levis
Tue, May 20, 2025, 1:40 PM
Titans head coach Brian Callahan said Tuesday that Ward and Will Levis have split practice reps evenly throughout Phase 2 of the team's offseason activities, Turron Davenport of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Callahan said Tennessee's quarterback reps "will probably change a little when when we get to the next phase of OTAs and there's some 7-on-7 [drills]," while also noting that Ward's selection at No. 1 overall and Levis' status as an incumbent starter haven't been the cause of any conflict at practice. Some amount of competition with Levis figures to be beneficial for Ward, who is still in the early stages of acclimating to a new offense and building chemistry with Calvin Ridley, Tyler Lockett, Treylon Burks (ACL) and Van Jefferson. Callahan said it would be premature to name a starter at this stage of the offseason, but it would nonetheless be surprising if it takes Ward long to earn a dominant share of first-team reps. The Titans are slated to conduct six OTAs between May 27 and June 5 before kicking off a three-day mandatory minicamp June 12. Ward may be able to push for increased reps during those dates, but the most pivotal period of his rookie development will occur during training camp and the preseason. Regardless of whether Levis remains on Tennessee's roster or draws trade interest, it seems like a sure thing that Ward will start the Titans' regular-season opener against Tampa Bay.
Kalel Mullings
Kalel Mullings Limited at rookie minicamp
Sat, May 10, 2025, 3:14 PM
Titans head coach Brian Callahan said Saturday that Mullings (abdomen) is recovering from core muscle surgery and will be limited at rookie minicamp, John Glennon of NashvillePost.com reports.
Analysis: Tennessee selected Mullings in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft with knowledge of his offseason procedure, so his current capped participation level at rookie minicamp is simply the result of following his recovery timetable. Once fully healthy, Mullings will work to earn a depth role behind Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears (concussion). Callahan said the Titans are "just being careful with [Mullings] at this point," per Zach Dimmitt of SI.com.
Treylon Burks
Treylon Burks Option not picked up
Thu, May 1, 2025, 2:31 PM
The Titans officially declined the fifth-year option on Burks' (knee) rookie contract Thursday, Paul Kuharsky of PaulKuharsky.com reports.
Analysis: Burks' fifth-year option being declined is no surprise, given that he's currently working his way back from an ACL tear suffered Week 6 of the 2024 season, and when healthy had failed to secure a top three role behind Calvin Ridley, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Tyler Boyd. Westbrook-Ikhine and Boyd have since parted ways with Tennessee, though the team added Tyler Lockett and Van Jefferson as experienced options to complement Ridley for new franchise quarterback Cam Ward. Per Turron Davenport of ESPN.com, head coach Brian Callahan stressed the necessity of Burks hitting the ground running and making plays once he's returned to full health when addressing the media Tuesday.
Will Levis
Will Levis Trade coming soon?
Fri, Apr 25, 2025, 9:19 AM
Levis is a candidate to be traded after Tennessee drafted fellow quarterback Cam Ward at No. 1 overall Thursday night, KLTV's Terry McCormick reports.
Analysis: The pick was expected for some time beforehand, and the Titans likely would've already moved Levis if they got an offer for something like a mid-round pick. The question now is whether they'll trade him for less than that, creating a fresh start for both parties after back-to-back disastrous seasons for the Tennessee offense since Levis was taken 33rd overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. Levis turns 26 in June and hasn't shown much on the field that hints at developing into a legitimate NFL starter, but he does have a strong arm, decent mobility and a prototypical build (6-foot-4, 229 pounds).
Tyler Lockett
Tyler Lockett Finds new home in Tennessee
Thu, Apr 24, 2025, 8:09 AM
Lockett signed a one-year, $4 million contract with the Titans on Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Lockett spent the first 10 seasons of his career in Seattle but was cut ahead of the new league year in a salary cap move. The 32-year-old wideout is coming off of a down 2024 campaign that saw him post a 49-600-2 receiving line as the third option in the Seahawks' passing game. In Tennessee, Lockett figures to fill the old Tyler Boyd role from last season, sliding in as a veteran slot man on the tail end of his career. Look for the Titans to add more pass-catching help in this week's NFL Draft.
Treylon Burks
Treylon Burks Not nearing return yet
Mon, Mar 31, 2025, 2:03 PM
Titans coach Brian Callahan said Monday that Burks' return from an ACL tear should occur closer to the regular season, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Analysis: Reading between the lines, Burks is unlikely to be ready for the start of training camp and in danger of missing Week 1. He suffered an ACL tear Week 6 of 2024, causing an early end to what was shaping up as another disappointing season. The 2022 first-round pick failed to earn a top-three role under a new coaching staff and now finds himself rehabbing a major injury for the final year of his rookie contract. The only positive development for Burks' fantasy value is that Tennessee's lack of receiving weapons could afford him another opportunity to compete for playing time. Still, there are many better ways to use a late-round fantasy pick.
Tim Boyle
Tim Boyle Lands with Tennessee
Wed, Mar 26, 2025, 3:31 PM
The Titans signed Boyle to a contract Wednesday.
Analysis: Boyle, a storied journeyman who's logged action for the Packers, Lions, Bears, Jets, Dolphins and Giants in his NFL career, now joins a Tennessee quarterback room alongside incumbents Will Levis and Brandon Allen. The Titans are strong candidates to make further additions to the quarterback room this offseason, potentially including with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft.
James Proche
James Proche Latches on in Tennessee
Wed, Mar 26, 2025, 3:28 PM
The Titans signed Proche to a contract Wednesday.
Analysis: Proche spent the last two seasons contributing as a special-teams specialist in Cleveland, suiting up for 19 regular-season games in that span. He'll compete to secure a similar role in Tennessee. Proche's ability to contribute on return duties will boost his chances of sticking with the Titans' regular-season roster.
Julius Chestnut
Julius Chestnut Brought back by Tennessee
Wed, Mar 19, 2025, 3:03 PM
The Titans re-signed Chestnut to a one-year deal Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The Sacred Heart product has inked a deal to return to Tennessee after taking 22 carries for 102 yards and catching two of his three targets for 11 yards across 17 games in 2024. Additionally, Chestnut played 225 special-teams snaps and tallied 337 kick-return yards. He's expected to play a similar role in 2025.
Brandon Allen
Brandon Allen Lands in Tennessee
Thu, Mar 13, 2025, 1:50 PM
The Titans agreed to terms Thursday with Allen on a one-year contract, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Allen appeared in three games last season as Brock Purdy's top backup in San Francisco. Now, the veteran journeyman joins a Tennessee quarterback room that currently only houses himself and Will Levis, but which should see further additions via either free agency or April's draft, in which the team holds the No. 1 overall pick.
Van Jefferson
Van Jefferson Lands one-year contract
Wed, Mar 12, 2025, 9:10 AM
Jefferson and the Titans reached agreement Wednesday on a one-year, $2.5 million contract, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The modest salary suggests Jefferson will need to compete for a depth job and may not even be assured of a roster spot. He'll be on his fourth team since the start of 2023, having never come close to matching the 50-802-6 receiving line he produced for the Rams in 2021, his second season in the league. He's finished south of 400 yards in each subsequent campaign and isn't likely to experience a major revival in his age-29 season ahead.
David Martin-Robinson
David Martin-Robinson Finds role late
Tue, Feb 18, 2025, 3:44 PM
Martin-Robinson played in five regular-season games for the Titans in 2024, catching one pass (on two targets) for six yards.
Analysis: Martin-Robinson joined Tennessee as an undrafted free agent out of Temple in the spring and went on to make their 53-man roster out of training camp. However, the 25-year-old spent much of the season as a healthy inactive before finally getting the opportunity to suit up in Week 14 and subsequently appearing in their final five matchups. Still under contract for next season, Martin-Robinson should have the opportunity to earn a larger workload in 2025.
Jha'Quan Jackson
Jha'Quan Jackson Finds role in return game
Tue, Feb 18, 2025, 3:38 PM
Jackson appeared in 12 regular-season games in 2024, catching one ball (on three targets) for eight yards, while totaling 627 return yards on punt and kick duties.
Analysis: Jackson was never able to secure a significant role on offense during his rookie campaign after being selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. However, he did lockdown the role of Tennessee's punt and kick return man for the majority of the season. However, the Tulane product finished the season as a healthy inactive for their final five games, leaving his role with the squad in 2025 up in the air.
